And he's over the edge... or should I say she? I have no idea. But from what I know of spiders, and considering the size of this "little" darling, it's probably a "she".
In reference to how close I was - I shudder to think!! I was getting too carried away, haha!!
Spread out like she is in this image, she spanned about two or three inches, give or take.
