Description

A little bit Belgian history. About fifteen years ago I found this sculpture in a mount of stone screen of a Brussels ruinous house that had to be demolished. The building was already more than 30 years uninhabited. The sculpture - signed by Guillaume Geefs, a Belgian sculptor (1805-1883) - is since then in my possession because the owner wasnâ??t known. G.Geefs was the sculptor of the first King of the Belgians, LÃ©opold I(1790 â?? 1865). He took the constitutional oath on 21 July 1831.

Een mooi en interessant verhaal, de beeldhouwer is mij onbekend maar het is wel een mooi beeld! Knappe foto trouwens ook!

Mooi gefotografeerd en bedankt voor de les. Die Geefs verstond zijn vak wel, echt een mooi beeld. Rendo gaat raar om met leestekens in de begeleidende teksten, alleen met ouderwetse (dubbele) aanhalingstekens weet het raad, van een apostroph en van leestekens maakt het een potje. Ik laat ze dan ook maar weg.
