Description

I decided to take a quick break and whip up a "sunset" image featuring some of those new GI techniques mixed with a real light source. Its nothing fancy, but I think it turned out nicely. The terrain is just a simple power fractal, with extra fractals stacked to add additional detail. Same with the color. The clouds are basic TG2 clouds, and the sky is the starry background I posted a few weeks back. Minor postwork in Photoshop which included levels, color correction, selective sharpening. Stats: Quality: 1.0 Res: 1024x768 Time: 8.5 hours on 4 cores Thanks for checking it out.

The GI method seems to render faster. Beautiful lighting. Great clouds. Nice terrain. I like the stars, but they don't look quite real...nevertheless, this is beautiful.
