Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Fantastic job of capturing all those beautiful colors!

Gorgeous heathers! I love these, but ours all bloomed in the spring around here; these must be a different variant. Wonderful colors in this capture!

I looked at this and said exactly what Denise said. LOL! This is beautiful!

You are much too young to remember this: But this image reminds me of those crystals we put into a jar of water as kids, and they would grow different colors of something like stalagmites in the water. ;c) Beautiful composition!

It's like a natural carpet of color. Soft and so delicate. Beautiful capture and thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful. Your link refers to computer controlled irrigation which I read years ago installs with the sprinkler pipes and measures via sensors the water saturation in the soil and irrigates as needed. Quite ingenuous and quite adaptable to gardens.

You have done a fantastic job of capturing all the different hues here Marilyn. I used to love walking and hunting on the moorland around where I lived as a teenager. I had permission from a couple of local farmers to shoot on their land and used to walk amongst the heather and ferns even beyond the farmers boundries. Out onto the 'Lord of the Manor's' Moorland where you could find the odd pheasant, mostly it was rabbits and hares that we managed to get. They all finished up in the pot though, we hunted for food not sport, but we enjoyed it as well. The odd fox came along sometimes and that was a bonus because the farmers used to pay £5.00 for the brush. I ramble. Excellent capture, I hope you get as much joy each time you pass by, as I used to get from hiking the moors. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

A potpourri of vivid colors and light/shadow textures dominate this scene of the healthy hearty heathers, Marilyn, with a great rock thrown in for contrast!

a beautiful capture of a really bursting visual scene. Not only because each section of growth is in a similar 'hillock' shape, which is beautiful, but because of all the subtle differences in plant texture itself. It's kind of a fairy tale capture, and it's quite colorful and sensuous.
