This old fire truck sits in an enclosed glass stucture in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. The day I visited, and drove up it was empty, so I went inside the station to inquire about, and the officer I spoke to told me with a very straight face that we sold it on e-bay, and I said you are kidding and he said “ No ma’am we got 2 million for it we couldn’t turn it down” and then he broke into a big smile and said we had it out last night for the parade and the parade got rained out so we hauled it inside care to see it? Well he continued to stand there as I took some pictures, and told me some of its history, and told me they take it out twice a year, one being for the Christmas Parade and the other for the Dogwood Festival Parade, he then gave me a busines card and said if I called ahead on those days I could see how they bring the horses in and get them ready to pull the engine out. So I hope to go see that next Christmas. This one goes out to all the FireFighters out there, I am sure we must have a few in our member list. Happy Sunday.
