Description

While I was grubbing around in the dirt the other day, I came across this baby lizard. I had never seen one this small before. His body was only an inch long, and his tail about another inch. He's probably a Texas Spiny Lizard or a Tree Lizard, I'm not sure. He was safely let go after I took this one handed macro. Thanks for looking and thanks for your kind comments on my recent images.

Neat find. Great shot. Cool critter. We used to call these "fence lizards" but I am not sure of the real name. I do know they are fast when they are adults, lol. It has been many many years since I saw one though. Thanks for sharing, Lee

On your finger like this Maria gives a great sense of scale to the little critter, had to laugh at punaguy's comment, and its so true. The majoroty of women would scream and run shouting that a croc was chasing them. roflmao. Nice to see there are some famales that can vanquish dragons, kudos for that. Excellent capture, great that you had your camera handy, superb clarity and detail, first clas work. Bravo!!!!!
