Description
This image reminds me of the mysteries of the universe. Each one is unfolding gently and slowly, one at a time. What a wonderful and rich history the universe has. So I began to wonder. I thought and thought. And little by little, an idea came to me. Hmmm? A mystery... a history. What do these things have in common? Inquiring minds want to know. Today is a mystery... it is a day of revelation. For before us will spread the out picturing of our thoughts and dreams and the revelation of the mystery of our choices. The most amazing thing about this unplanned event is that this revelation is not based upon our history. Oh, we can say it is. But we wouldn't be honest with ourselves if we did. Our future has an infinite number of possibilities. Each time we make a choice, we take on a new path for our future. And the most wonderful thing is that we don't have to make choices based upon our history. We are always able to choose a new outcome. What the results of our choices will be is for the most part a mystery. There is an amazing thing about choices... they allow us to create a new history as well. So the next time we start to think "I can't do that." Put on the brakes and say to yourself "cancel, cancel... that is not the truth of who I am." It's quite interesting what that little phrase can do for us. We are a mystery... a grand and glorious mystery. We are ever changing... ever growing. We are more than we were yesterday and yet we are not as much as we will be tomorrow. What we are to become is yet to unfold... how we will get there is up to us. Strange thing about choices... they bring to us that which we are seeking when we least expect it. How divine. How simply divine.
Our thought for the day is: "I am not my history.' --Gayle O

there's an ancient tale of an elephant who sits for ages and recreates the universe in his mind. Someone comes along and says, "what are you doing?" And the elephant—never opening his eyes—says: "I don't have to answer you because you're already in my mind! And you've already asked that question, and I've already answered it a thousand times!" And the person says: "Oh? Ditto..." At which the elephant jumps up, no one's there, and he smiles, thinking: 'I still have so much to discover!' And he goes on his way realizing that even in his deepest reveries he's only covered a tiny portion of what's inside him.... You wrote a beautiful set of thoughts & they're beautifully written, and your visual—esp. full-size—is a network of jewels shining at each 'synapse'. And your palette is rich in greens and luminous blues (& earth tones, etc), and gives real distinctness to each turn & form of your spiral. The 'jewels' are simple but sensuous; and the outer layers have this sensuous flow you do so well in other pieces. There's always a mysterious connection between your words & images, because it's a lot more than "this is a picture of that". Here your visual is really a re-casting of your words, another vision of them, and both are beautiful and complement each other... The Yogavasishta (an old Hindu tale-collection, in case you don't know it) tells us a sage picked up a rock and said: "In this rock I see the universe, and in that universe, another universe, filled with beings and planets and other universes, etc. etc."...It's just a scene, maybe a paragraph, but many would say the stone is inside of us, and we just have to find it in our souls...More loving work from you; a stopover in eternity along our ways; thank you once again for what you give here...
