Description
In the photograpyy forum there's a challenge to find something exotic near the area where you live. For me one of the exotic things about Germany is the number of festivities that include folk costumes and a two or three piece band playing traditional dance music. I present for your consideration a photo of just such an exotic local festival held each year to honor the christening of the village church. From early Sunday evening in a village less than a mile away, the Schlicht Kirwa. Bring on the beer and bratwurst!

There is a good deep feeling of knowing who you are in this shot. I especially love the look of the band. I'm a polka freak so I do hope there was so good oompah going on. :-)

Looks like they're having fun! Love the colorful costumes and the setting for this. Great hat for the guy and I like the woman's braids. Very nice work.
