Dang. Those are some big chains! Excellent shot. Love the POV - it draws the eye right off the edge of the bow, and gives a sense of movement. Nice!

Excellent! It must be exciting, to walk onto the ship and see this view. Sad events in history also come to mind for me.

Historic ship. She came into New York harbor for Fleet Day in the Fall of 1946 or 1947, and my Dad wangled a tour. The LTJG who showed us around took us up here on the foredeck and said, "Now turn around." Wow! The huge guns and turrets with the bridge behind (looked like a quarter mile at the time - I was younger then) loomed large. Did get to see the area where the Japanese signed the surrender in 1945. Even at my age then, I got a chill. Thanks for posting this image.
