Its funny it has been thirty years But it just seems like yesterday Since I held you in my arms I remember the little things so clear The way I just couldn't wait to see you The way I always tingled When ever you were around I remember the way you laughed The way you made me laugh I remember the way You crinkled your little nose I remember all the different tones of your voice And what every tone meant I remember the first time You kissed me behind the ear It changed my world forever I remember the camp trailer Where you stole my virginity And I was glad I remember you asking the lady at the fair For that big feather And the look she gave us That made us laugh so hard I can remember playing those wonderful games Where no one looses I can remember night after night Eating fried potatoes and macaroni and cheese I have never seen anyone Who had so little Have so much pride I remember your little red car And how much you loved it I remember when ever we took it You wouldn't let me drive I remember the silly way You would bob your head When you were all excited I remember it made you so much happier To give a gift then receive a gift I remember you just loved being the woman You never wanted to try and be the man I remember when you were afraid If I would hold you in my arms real tight All your fears would melt away I remember how you use to like to sit on my lap And rub my chest When we sit around and talked to friends Now we are both old and gray And although its been 30 years It sure seems like yesterday This poem is a lot longer than I usually write, but the words just seemed to want out so I set them free.
