Description
Our baby pigeons are more fun than we thought. They know when feeding time is and where we do it. I open the door where they live and they run outside to where we feed them. Lots of fun for a few more weeks then they go live with their kind.

I see you learned the head-vice grip. :-) See if it is easier by simulating a feeding mother. take the syringe and tap it gently once or twice on top of the beak about midway (you can experiment with exactly where they respond). This should signal the primal instinct to open the mouth upward. At the same time or immediately following the tap, put your index and middle fingers in a V shape (point them upward)and fit the beak in the V loosely but letting them know you are there. This is an approximation of how mother would feed them. First she comes up to the baby, taps its beak with hers and the baby raises its head with an open mouth. Mother then jams baby's beak into the back of her mouth and brings up the milk for it - so the baby has its beak in a V shaped wedge in mom's mouth. I'm giving you this hint because it took me awhile to learn it and I nearly sufficated my first clutch squirting food into its mouth, eyes, ears and nose until they were big enough to peck me when I came near. :-) Clean up on those facial feathers can be difficult as you know. Oh, and I LOVE this shot. :-)

I had to give medicine to our cat once through a dropper and she fought me all the way, only way I could do it was to lay her on here back, place her between my legs and hold her down that was how strong she was.. had to do that for two weeks, and it was always so funny the way she fought, she's still as stubborn as ever.

So sweet, isn't it amazing how quickly anything to do with food is learned? Great capture!
