Description

morning all :o) this yellow weed in my garden attracts all sorts of insects which has surprised me as i did`nt let too many weeds survive before finding out we were moving .with letting most of the stuff just have its own way at the back of the garden ,like nettles and what have you its created a little wildlife area thats full of surprises .this is the first butterfly i`ve seen in my garden all year ,which i`ve noted before that i found surprising .after andrea gave me the correct id i`ve now changed the title .what a mine of infomation she is :o) thanks for looking and take care mick

Seeing that you brought it up; any news on the house front Mick. They seem to be dragging their heels on this, or are you hoping to move into one of the new builds when they are ready? Excellent capture of the large white Mick, I have seen a couple in the distance this last week, but always in someone elses garden. We don't have much in the way of plants, we have a low maintenance garden most of the plants are in large pots. I have seen a few pics of this plant just lately, it looks too nice to be a weed, but then I like dandilions, the flower not the seed head. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Fantastic catch, Mick!! I've got these in my garden, but can I get a decent shot? NO!! This is so sharp, terrific focus especially on the legs.

Super capture Mick! There are tons of these guys in my neighborhood in the vacant lots, but the minute the city mows the lots these guys disappear! Seems they prefer weeds to regular flowers!

I had no idea there was a large and a small white. I've just always figured they were all cabbage butterflies. This is a fabulous detail shot of this guy. The eye shows so very well! Thanks for teaching me there are two whites. I still don't know how I tell if the one I see is big or little...
