I honestly thought that this was a photograph at first it is so well done. It looks like some oil paintings my dear old English granny had in her home of the Scottish country side of the 19th century.

Nice composition and a definite painterly effect, my friend. Many artists came to Scotland in the 19th century for the everchanging quality of the light ( known to us Scots as 'four-seasons-in-an-hour-weather' ). You have captured the atmosphere well. 'God rays' remind us Scots that there is a sun up there somewhere .. ;o) It often feels that we rarely see the sun. Last month scientists told us that Glasgow saw less sunlight, on average, during the 'summer' than parts of Norway above the Arctic Circle. Photographers are challenged when they tour this beautiful country. Thankfully VUE allows us a wee bit more control over the elements. The surface of the loch looks almost like rain on the water ( its normal condition ... ;o) ). The sparse, scabby vegetation, and rough, tumbled terrain of your render, is typical of some areas here. I prefer seascapes, and where mountain meets the lochs or the sea. Warm regards, John.
