Description

This is probably my best and favorite shot to date of a Long Legged Fly, gotten yesterday. Being only a few mm long (this one about 4-6mm) and quite active, they are hard to catch. This one stopped long enough to drink what looks like sweat from a unripe lemon on my tree. These guys have awesome colors that I still haven't managed to totally capture and translate to the camera yet. Shot hand held using my XTi w/50mm 2.5 and a +4 Hoya Close up filter. No wonder it's your favorite, those colors and textures are fabulous! Cute tilt you gave the camera, too (it emphasizes the perspective even more than the narrow focus) -- this is just generally quite well done.
