Corsair... what a thing of beauty. A question though... And please don't take this as a bad criticism... but, what happened to it's canopy? They didn't have open cockpits... is that the way the 3D program renders it up or was it forgotten. Sorry, don't mean to sound like some stickler for details.... honestly. It's still an excellent image!

Hey Mntnman259 You know intensity of light and shadows can play havoc with glass canopies. I have studied hundred if not thousands of aircraft photo's and sometimes you have to stretch to see the canopy and since i am an impressionist painter I have always scribed for the observer to patch in the answers. But as I continue on with this I will take in your remarks. That is why I am here and all the comments just help create a better illustration.

Love this shot. Hope you've had an opportunity to visit my gallery (bmac62). I had the rare opportunity (for me) to photograph an FG-1D Corsair on the ground and in the air at an airshow in Kansas City, Missouri on August 24, 2008. I've got a couple of Corsair shots posted but have many more sitting in my computer files. I have close ups of the pilot in the cockpit while taxiing and one sequence of about five shots of the aircraft in the process of folding up its' wings while taxing in after landing...been thinking about doing some sort of collage.
