Description
I just finished this hand following Ryan Kittleson's superb hand modeling tutorial. I branched off from where he left it a bit, and obviously the reference I chose is not very much like his. Very pleased with the result. This hand came out to 558 polygons, and I'm OK with that for this very fine level of detail. There is still a bit to do on the wrist when I weld the hand onto the body of the character and I notice a couple of small tweaks here and there that still need to be done to the hand.
The human figure I'm working on is currently at 1580 polys for neck to feet, so including a pair of these hands she's now at about 2700 polys without the head. All quads too. Wireframes are subdivided 1x, rendered at 3x.
If the fingers appear long, that's because they are, my reference has wonderful long fingers. Modeled at "zero pose" in anticipation of rigging. Thanks to Tanchelyn for bringing it to my attention and thanks to Ryan for his superb modeling tutorials. Check em out!
Modeled from scratch in Cinema 4D, about 8 hours (I'm not very fast). Enjoy, feedback welcome.

nice work. BUT: the big thumb is twisted unnaturaly. Just look at your palm and you'll see what i mean. the mistake is realy obvious in the bottom left immage. and if i look again i notice that it is a bit too big. anyway the easyest way to model a had is to look at your own. cheers!

Yeah, the tip of the thumb is twisted, I'll fix that. Thanks.

That is a tremendous amount of work, something I clearly couldn't ever fathom doing. Excellent.
