out of curiousity, just how long does it ttake to create the diorama? I'm betting not a couple of hours.

Actually the diorama took about 2 hours. The hill is a premade model railroad tunnel. The turf is from a roll of tough plastic with the faux-grass on one side, glued to foam-core board. I poked holes in the base and glued the trees in. And the shrubs are a foam, also glued down. I sprinkled some various-colored powders on the turf to break the monotony.
