Description

I often leave a few windows open on hot days. Yesterday (Sept 1) this critter was on my sink.

Those eyes are amazing. So different from the eyes on my mantises. Excellent clarity and fabulous macro.

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. For those interested in the photo details the picture was taken with a Canon 30D, 50mm f/2.5 macro lens. 800 ISO (shot indoors at night with existing lighting.) Exposure f/2.5, 1/50 sec. Used Photoshop with Noise Ninja to reduce the noise. The image was color corrected in PS and had some light burning and dodging. I took the mantis outside today to set it lose in the yard. I will post a daytime photo when allowed. (I have to wait at least 24 hours between posting each image.) The eyes are very different in the daylight.
