Description
Ok, tried out some new techniques. I was very happy with the earlier version but felt that I needed to develop a better look for my comic. In this version, rather than use a smoke filter, I drew my own along with the flames. I did the smoke with the pen tool, followed by the point selection tool, and then a gradient fill and stroke. The flame was done in a similar manner but as several layers. I also gave the render an orange/brown tint by making a layer on top of all other layers which I filled with a orange bron gradient, then set the layer to "soft Light". All of this was done so as to develop my comic look. Please let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

The red smoke looks great, the flames on the other hand look out of place. Or maybe wrong. I don't know exactly, maybe they are two solid, maybe to big. Since this is a toon it probably is not all that important anyway.

Like the red smoke better in this one but not the flames. Maybe replacing the flames with smoke? Overall I like this one better color wise. Was also curious if you new that Marvel comics I believe had a super hero group named Alpha Flight. Keep up the good work though been following your stuff, really liked the comments from the two in the corner of the first render of this.
