Description

There is a story behind all of this [written on the NIN-theSpiral web site]: I'm not 100% sure where this began, but I'll try to puke out the story I'm an independant artist, I've been making content for 3D art and animation programs for over 3 years now. You might be familar with these programs as "Poser," "Bryce," "Daz Studio," happy, fun shtuff: like that. Some of my works can be seen and bought online, but I'm not saying where, as this isn't part of my story I'm not looking for sales at all, nor am I advertising. I have been trying to make an honest part-time job of selling digital art on the side (besides doing the 9-5 hour day job), as a means of making part-time coin. I've been enjoying working on my own because I love what I do, even though it's brought next to no financial gain - that doesn't stop me from doing what I love doing. This is one thing that has always really touched and inspired me about Trent: he does what he does because he loves it, and we love him for this - is all it's honest and purist entirity. And holy shlikies, I just rambled a little, excuse me. In my workoholic ventures, I decided I would next do some 3D figure morph packages - the basis of this procedure is creating human looking skin in Photoshop, tweaking an "all ready on the market" 3D figure (picture re-modelling the Shrek figure: as it saves time, all though I do 3D sculpting a tiny bit as well), so that the figure "looks different, but is marketable, etc." People buy these online as well as different 3D clothing/ hair/prop packages, etc. I enjoy creating packs like this, as I've always enjoyed working with people and characters as afocus. I decided this time I would digitally sculpt a handsome man as my character - possibly Photoshop him some tanned skin, and tattoos... Maybe some carefully placed birthmarks, add some 3D earring as a prop, whatever. As I worked, I couldn't quite get any facial features "right" - for some strange reason, I just couldn't create any male morphs that pleased me visually - sure, they were cute and some of them, perfectly marketable... but none of them really captured my attention. After a lot of careful thought, I let myself take a break and just "play" with the morphs, and as it always does - I let my mind wander on just a short enough leash - something incredible happened. I started to see in what I was sculpting the slightest similarities in Trent's nose, from a side angle - I don't know how to explain it, but I challenged myself: I've never, in my life, seen any man who - (I just wrote this about a hundred times and I can't say it even poetically, because no words can caress such meaning in all honesty)..... oh crap, beer makes me poetic, that's creepy and cute??!!!: Trent Reznor is, to me, the most handsome man I have ever known, to be honest - and I mean this about his heart as well.. I feel like I have such an incredible treasure with this - I can't bring myself to "sell it," all though artists have "sculpted celebrities and sell them" based on the figure's looks, and I imagine they sell well. I've been thinking about it, and you can't put a price on something that means so much. I just noticed my account expires September 30th, and I will no longer have access to my Spiral account. I'm such a broke-arse I know I won't be back. So in lieu of this, Poser/Daz Studio users [e-Frontier/Curious Labs], you can find the carefully sculpted Trent Render in my Freebies section, of my web site. As well as everyone else who might be curious to take a gander from time to time. Stay cool with the Dragon and Trent: You will always be an inspiration.
