Have you ever noticed how those defining moments in life seem to stand out? I've been doing a lot of thinking the last 24 hours. I got notifications from my daughter yesterday that there had been two deaths of people I knew, One was 26, and the other was in his late 60's.
Life is a funny dance. We never know how much time we are going to have here. Having lived in an alcoholic environment in childhood, my siblings and I were not allowed to show our real feelings. We spent years stifled in that way, as well as other ways. In varying degrees, we became like chameleons, being what we perceived others wanted us to be. It is an extremely stressful way to live. It has taken me a lot of years, to unlearn that behavior. There are great quotes I could site, but I like the way Mama Cass Elliot said it best:

So that we may sing our own song and dream our own dream. Yes it is a long journey to undo all that has been done. It is with this knowledge of a life lived much like yours that I say.... Now is the time to live like you never lived, loved like you've never loved. And be because the world is a much better place because you are in it. Open your heart and the raise the sails of your soul so that you may live. And your post says this, it lifts the soul to the heavens. The Mama's and the Papa's were the best harmonizing group ever. It was Mama Cass that made them, for me anyway. I love her voice. There is such strength and clarity in her voice. Even to this day when I hear her, her voice resonates within my soul.
