A New Friend
She lives inside me
I found her in a corner
of my mind
I'd never visited.
I was poking around,
as you do,
hungry for words
and their meaning.
Scratching over,
layer upon layer
unused and long forgot.
And there she was
pen in hand and
all the words in the Universe
at her finger ends,
long gone dialect, tongues
the Ancients spoke
and I understood.
