My house is a homeless shelter for spiders, I believe. They are everywhere in all sizes and all types. But, on the other hand, I don't have any other sort of bug in the house. I knock down the webs about once a month and they are all back in a day or two. Still, they do seem to stay up high out of the way and they are doing a good job of removing any other insects that might find their way inside. :-) I love the glossy look to this spider and between the one in the web and the owner of the web, I'm glad the owner of the web won this battle. :-)

Ohhhhh good lord Helle !!!!.....CREEPY !!!! We've been having an invasion of black and brown widow spiders in our garden lately so this really hits a nerve....spiders really send me running for the hills or doing the heeby-jeeby dance...whichever comes first :o) Super shot !....now, what did you do with your prize? :o)

I saw this just now and couldn't go anywhere without commenting on it. I never miss your full-size images because they bristle and radiate...This is an amazing shot, and yes, it's creepy because it's the life-and-death cycle that all living creatures go through. But you caught such beauty here: The close-up is particularly beautiful, because the spider's body is like ceramic (I don't know how you get such detail) and its legs are truly hairy spindly things. They almost look man-made, like they're a fine plastic. And the shot is Color-coordinated (!!!), everything is one 'palette'. You're building quite a library, Helle: If someone came from Jupiter and wanted a record of the plant & insect life of our planet, they could turn to your gallery and be fulfilled. And that doesn't count all your other work, all of which is beautiful. Amazing photograph, amazing eye. You've done it again.

Great macro! We call these "corner-spiders"; being at home seems an advantage for this beast over the other one.
