Description
Guarded by birch and beset by nettles, the somnolent Dragonlinng Rock, or Wee Sleeping Drake, is an ancient place of power on Tormost Isle, one of the less barren of the Formost Isles. Shown here just before a spring shower, the innocent looking rock belies its dark, blood spattered past.
The first newborn babes born after Midwinter, would, according to legend, be closely guarded, until sacrificed at the start of Spring, to assuage the dark gods worshipped by the Auld Dark Folk, forerunners of the Dark Clan of more recent years.
( Extract from Gerrarder's 'Tall Tales of the Isles', as quoted in Makarffur's 'Remnants of the Auld Folk', Pellarmine College Press. )
VUE 6 Infinite: Four random rocks moulded, grouped and given a lichen MAT. Sitting on a Lonely Places ecosystem from Martin J Frost CORNUCOPIA 3d store. Atmosphere from either Real Skies or Natural Skies, available in Renderosity.
Sea mat modified from Walter Chipps' TERRAMATS from CORNUCOPIA. Birches source undetermined.
Enjoy. I had some fun trying to make the rocks into a dragon, and fortuitously found a large eye shaped depression on one of the rocks, still visible in this render. This suggests the attitude of the stone girt dragonet... ;o)
