Description

an old shot from about a year ago of a kestrel. the background on this shot was really messy so i thought i would put it through photoshop and see what i came up with. Gausian blured all around the bird and branch that it was sitting on and then cloned in the close parts of the bird and branch. After i was happy with the clean background i layered in a black and white sky at around 37% which i dodged and burnt to bring out cloud detail. finished of with a cool/warm filter from nik efex pro 2 and adjusted colour untill i was happy with the final image. hope you like the image and i hope my description helps to explain how it was done. your thoughts are most welcome. all the best, clint minolta 5D 100/400mm iso 400 f6.3

Thank you so much for your explanation on how you achieved this perfect image. often times I will take a picture of whatever, and the background will be too messy and cluttery that I feel its shot .. maybe I'll try what you did here .. wish me well; I'll need it! LOL This is a gorgeous photo .. a fav.
