Seeing Susan's post with the water and seeing this lovely post of the shell, I think it means that Ole (Uncle Ole) must have loved the water and all it has to offer. It is indeed fitting that his memories be carried in the throat of this conch shell so that when held to the ear, his joy can be heard forever.
