Description
Kenny Roberts, the King of motorcycle racing in 1979 and 1980. This was Yamaha's tribute to him, sadly strict United States Environmental Protection Agency regulations meant that the RZ500 was not available for sale in that country. Produced for a short period between 1984 and 1986 it has become a sought after collector's machine.
This is my farewell to my Breakfast Run in Franschhoek, for a while anyway! Though I am not riding again (yet!?), like photography, it is in my blood. So I will be back there!

Known as the RD here in the UK the 350 version of this was most exciting bike I have ever owned. I will never forget the sheer acceleration as the needle went over 5500 revs. Never had the chance to have a go on one of these beauties but probably the nearest to a race bike on the road. Nice to see there are still a few around. Great Pic again and long live King Kenny!
