Did you see Edam to? Volendam is a town in North Holland in the Netherlands, in the municipality of Edam-Volendam. Combined with Edam forms the municipality of Edam-Volendam. And if you ask me, Edam is more picturesque than Volendam and I’m gonna proof it. The old city centre, within the borders of the old city walls, is nowadays protected by the government, both the main structures and architectural details. A number of notable buildings survive in good condition. Here you see the harbor lock of Edam with his watcher, watching his clients sailing to the Yssel Lake, about 1 mile from Volendam harbor.
