Description
TYNE COT CEMETERY - Passendale largest British cemetery on the mainland. 11,956 soldiers of the Commonwealth and German casualties also some lie here bury. The cemetery is a consequence of killing ' Battle of Passendale' , also known as ' Third battle at Ieper' (juli-november 1917). On the wall achteraan the cemetery stands the names gegrift of 34,957 vermiste soldiers. They sneuvelden after 15 augusts 1917. The remaining names of vermisten find you on the one gateway in Ieper. At the request of the English king it ' became; Cross or Sacrifice' the German bunker conquered on top of built.
