Description

AlooooooHa! On my recent vacation to Kauai, I snuck over to the Marriott Hotel after the pool closed at 10pm. I wanted to try and shoot this pool without people in it. During the day, this pool is overcrowded with vacationers trying to work on their tan. Needless to say it's best shot at night when it's less crowded or closed like now. This is a pretty high end hotel and I walked around like I owned the place. It's all in the attitude I think. I could never feel comfortable in an expensive place like this, but it was fun to play tourist and act like I'm staying here. Under each one of these pillar section is a hot tub and during the day they are crammed in like sardines. Hard for me understand when a white sand beach fronts this hotel. To each his own I guess. Thanks for having a look and enjoy the rest of the weekend....Aloha~

I'm with you, I don't understand swimming in a pool when the ocean is right in front of you!! But, this is an elegant shot, free of the madding crowds!!

I am with you Dave with the coastline you have there!! The reflective golds give it the look of the Egyptians in their hey-day

Hotel will also be high-end, but frankly, the architecture is not to my liking... the fact remains that you have done an exceptional photo! :)

Hmmmm? I never did stay at a high end hotel before. Might be fun to splash a ripple or two in this pool especially at this hour. Very nice capture. Aloha

Beautiful capture; I've stayed in places like this on business trips, and while I'd like to feel like I belonged I never do...wonder if everyone else feels the same and just never lets on?

It gives the illusion of leaning to me. I've never stayed at such a place, I guess I couldn't justify the $$ it would cost. I'd rather be out on the white sandy beach too!!!! Very cool image though Dave, nice that there were no tourists around! Aloha...

You did a wonderful job with this. I love night shots... Seems like a great place to stay... except for the sardine-packed hot tub, that is, lol. Thanks for sharing, Na'e. Mwaloha! -M :^)
