Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It looks like a formidable river. Funny how these open bodies of water always emphasize the wind.

Great POV!

Humboldt is a word that appears in a forest near Berlin. Once the concrete is elevated one begins to pick up signals from everywhere.

Stellar POV and stark light/dark contrasts in this superb shot, taken against the ferocity of a whipping wind, Marilyn!

Looks like it is quite shallow here Marilyn, bottom left, is that some sort of grass in the water? Also looks like it was close to mid day when you took the picture, going of the shadows. Quite interesting to see the way the bridge curves to the left here, I wonder what the reason for that is? Most likely its for anchorage to the riverbed and the banks. Excellent capture, nice to see the supports free from graffiti. Bravo!!!!!
