I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

I agree with Max. Great cloud work. I think this one is especially realistic, with the lighting, colors and terrain. Very nice.

Wow...we finally get to see where Bob lives...LOL...cool image! Hey, where's the outhouse?
choronr
@Mark: It's out of view and to the left and behind the shack and doesn't have a door. Since you were sitting on it, I thought it would be best not to show it since I would have to post a 'warning' message for all the viewers.

You know the old stupid question: does it have internet? It looks like life is really boring over there! These works are almost like photographs, but the x-frog products are looking funny! A very good composition, Bob, very well done!!!
choronr
@ Ionel: No Internet; no radio or TV. You're alone with the elements of Nature. For one who loves humanity but hates people, this is the place to be. Regarding the plants, a higher setting of anti-aliasing would improve them. I plan on going back to this image and making several tweaks.

Glad outhouse is not visible - I've seen Mark on the John (so to speak) and it aint pretty! Anyhoo - think you did an amazing job putting this together, I feel a tumbleweed rolling and some dust coming on!

Amazing to come back and see the progress everyone has made with tg2. Wish i had the computer to spare for long renders...i am going to have to show everyone what can be done in Second Life here in Renerosity, with static images of real scenes you can move around in, meet other people with your avatar and talk to them in text or voice in real time! It isn't a game...it is the convergence of everything in one place and future of the Internet. I can even make terraqins in Terragen...upload them into Second Life and make a 3D replication there of it, walk around on it with my avatar, build a house, furnish and landscape it and have an art gallery to sell my pics rendered in Terragen hanging on the wall! Good work Bob...keep an eye out for post....not sure what catagory they will go in tho:)
