Description
Found this little girl in the backyard but it was a bit too windy so cut the leaf off & brought her inside. She was so patient to let me move her around, set up & take photos.
Species: Jumping Spider
Opisthoncus polyphemus (QM)
(identification also derived from an image on the salticid website of Ed Nieuwenhuys)
Habitat:
This spider is most often shaken from the green leaves of shrubs and low trees but may also be found in a leaf rolled into a tube for use as a retreat and as a place for depositing an egg sac

A tremendous shot! The little girl looks pretty happy about it catch. She probably wanted you to BBQ it for her! There is no fun eating these guys raw. Moving, hairy feet between teeth does not a great smile make!
