Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Terrific compo and colours!

I tend to over classify in the minds of many. To me stones are smooth no matter how large and rocks are sharp up to the tectonic level. I like the black sand but would want to sift it for foundry use. Is it basaltic?

Il y a comme le son de la mer tout au tour...

wondrous!

Yes, the way the white, surf foam is surrounding it makes an interesting capture. Very good composition.

Beautiful, I like it too; the foam cradling the stone and the overall colors of this capture are lovely!

This rock would fit in with my other pond rocks! Bring it on over!! :c) Nevermind, I have plenty... This is a very cool shot, and I love the foam all around it. The colors are outstanding!! Excellent image, and congrats on a very neat one!

On The Beach, a novel by Nevil Shute, made into a movie in 1959, starring Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire and Anthony Perkins, among others. Excellent lighting, shades of blue, composition and sudsy water in this fine capture, Marilyn. The rock looks somewhat like a beached whale.

a very nice luminous shot; you've caught a beautiful divide made by the froth from the wave...it's almost like it posed for you. Beautiful deep blue on one side with the pebbly texture behind, and white and bubbly on the other side; a beautiful contrast. (And you caught that rust color in the front of the rock too.) Beautiful nature photography with an eye towards the abstract. I'm trying to catch up on your back-gallery, and there's much here to see here! I'll get back to your current uploads soon!
