Description

I set my houseplant outside to get some sun and when I went to bring it back in this guy was making himself to home! I took a jar and literally pried him off my plant so I could ask Alex if this was the same bug he had photographed and also to show the maintenance man. Alex said Yes! and the maintenance man said this is a baby! That the adult bug is twice the size of this one! We released him back into nature. The little insert is the EWWW! Factor image I put up earlier, of Alex's Cicada in Virginia. I added that because the color is so different. The large image is here: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1714638 Thanks for looking and for previous comments!

Great detail of the cicada. They are wonderful creatures if one takes into account they spend a long time underground before emerging for the latter part of their life cycle.

The price you pay for putting house plants outside :)....I had a Colius plant one time I had put out to get some sun, and it must have been visted by a butty or moth, because a few days later it was covered in catties, and they were eating it alive rofl, the poor plant ended up balder than me :)

Interesting collage and great details, especially the one on the tree branch. I could not have gotten close enough to get shots like this, I shudder even now.

Great closeup, Lynn. Pretty little fella. Cicada's is wonderful singers. A special but obvious voice they have. Some find them noisy and annoying...i am not one of them. Every bird sings, with it's own beak.:) Interesting biological information too.+5
