Description

Hi everyone, First I want to thank you for your kind words on my upload yesterday. I appreciate them all. Here is a visitor that came into the house on the basket full of clothes from our outside laundry line. I got it onto my hand fairly easily. After three quick shots of open wings that were a blur, I got this one photo before it flew off. Best to all, -GB- The Mourning Cloak (Nymphalidae) is one of the most stately butterflies of North America. The species occurs through almost all of North America and in Eurasia as well. You will find Mourning Cloaks most commonly in the woods along rivers and streams, but it also occurs in city parks, suburban areas, and forests. The adults are very fond of tree sap and can often be found on trees when the sap is running. Nymphalis antiopa
