To all of my mother's Renderosity friends:
It saddens me to no end to tell you that my mother, Mina, passed on May 31st, from endometrial cancer. She is survived by my father, Roger, and myself. I apologize for not letting you all know sooner, but her passing has left me with a broken heart and it is very hard to write this, even now. I don't suppose there will ever come a time that it will be easier.
I know how much she loved you all, how much it meant to her to have met such wonderful people, and how much it meant to her to create & share her art with you. I am leaving her work here for a while, as tribute to her, her beauty, her talent & her love.
Brightest Blessings to you all!
Heather
 Mina's daughter
Thanks to all for stopping by and hope you enjoy your visit.

"I get out my work and have a show for myself before I have it publicly.
I make up my own mind about how good or bad or indifferent it is.

I have already settled it for myself so flattery
and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.

Mina, it's beautiful. Very different for you too, at least in the last few months. Your reaching figure is etched out of stone, the stone is of a deep inner hue, and you've transformed the stone into a deep & ancient parchment, or old papyrus. The transformation is seamless, they are one and the same. And your curled edges are beautifully modeled in deep darks, as if we're viewing this in a cave, or through long time past. The carving (glyphs) and shell seem etched there by some ancient hand, and the stone is cracked as if by age and the wisdom of wear. It's all of a piece, it's mysterious and arcane, and I think quite beautiful. Beautiful for the theme too.

Ah yes, I remember seeing this on Discovery Channel. Agnus the Viking's ruin account of his first visit to the British Isle - and the girl he met there. Very moving saga. Had me laughing and crying, until I stopped. :O) Excellent art as always dear Mina!
