Description

This was made during one of my last Photoshop sessions, because now I’ve stopped teaching to draw comics. In fact it was a custom-tailored Photoshop exercise for a very special client, IDFM, a French society which is manufacturing plastic doors and windows. The original image has not less than 24 Layers! IDFM was willing to show that, thanks to their windows, the houses had an excellent protection against cold. The thin colorful lines near the border are the limits of the published leaflet (normally these guides are only visible on the original Photoshop file); of course the image must continue further, so that there is no risk of having white borders when the paper has been cut. IDFM was willing to combine: a photo of cold winter, a painting of a summer scene, a bunch of flowers, and a cat resting on a book. I had to find ALL these elements to satisfy the client. So I gave to the society a winter photo that I took before in the French Jura and a pastel that I used as a button for my website (fortunately I drew that button in a big format). The bunch of flowers was offered to my wife (mtc here). The little cat is of my neighbour; she is cute, but a very wild female…and very difficult to photograph (she hates resting on books, because she says that she has a very sensible back)! Finally, the wallpaper comes from my kitchen, and I turned it into a Photoshop pattern. Hmm… With all that, was the client satisfied? YES, he was. But I had the idea to share this pict with you, my friends… So… I had to replace all the elements that were not my entire artistic property : furniture, books, and wooden wall elements. Therefore I created them in Cinema 4D R9.0. The complete image was assembled in Photoshop CS3 Extended. I dedicate this pict to OnceUponAtime, an excellent BW photographer who has a cat as icon, and I invite you to enjoy his very nice gallery. For my next post, I will return to my comic project.

Many different lightsources that do not match, many different ambiant missmatches. Try to level the single parts in light and ambiance for a better entirety. :) Strata

Quelle calme dans cette composition parfaite... entre la "ouate" au dehors et ce petit chat en plein rêve... tout un plaisir pour les yeux! Beau travail et superbe cadeau pour notre ami... splendide!

I was thinking the window and exterior scene was fotos.you done an excellent job incorporating the 3d objects in to the composite. the flower pot is a little rough on edges, but over all the scene rocks.congrats on having some art work that pays. the pvc windows here are very expensive and does not always hold up to the Texas extreme temperature, but does better than wood. I prefer a quality metal frame window

I like the contrast of the summer scene in the painting that's hanging on the wall against the winter scene out the window. That combined with the cat resting on the books makes the home look cozy and inviting. Lovely work.
