Description

"Ruff Stuff Airborne" goes with "Ruff Stuff" sitting pretty on the ground in my previous upload. Missed capturing the pilot except in miniature in this image. Once again date/location is Aug 24, 2008, Kansas City. Clouds came later in the day...so there is almost too much blue here. Additional detail in full-size view. Comments welcome. Thanks for stopping by. Bill

That is a good picture, looks like the plane was picking up allot of light and glare. Nice angle that shows the top of the cowls on the Lighting.

Impressive shot of an outstanding plane. I always felt, that the design conveys the idea of severe punishment more than any other aircraft of the WWII era. Our G.I.s used to call it "the fork tailed devil" due to the distinctive shape - and surely because it was mainly used as a fighter bomber later in the war. Thanks for the shot !

It was the type Antoine de Saint Exypery vanished over the mediterranean in 44. Very nice! P
