Description

We actually got a feeder band from Hurricane Ike yesterday afternoon, and that happens very rarely in my part of North Texas. I have only seen it once before in the 30 plus years that I have lived here. They mostly so much further south or east. I went outside to get this shot of Mike's favorite rose bush while it was still raining just so I could say I have been in a hurricane, :) No damage here, but my nieces and nephews in Houston had lots of damage and will be without power for who knows how long. God Bless the folks down on the gulf coast who will be a long time recovering from this storm and thanks so much for looking.

I hope everyone gets back on track soon. Damage and loos of power must be extremely upsetting... You used that rare event in your area to capture a GEM of an image here... really nice work.

This is so beautiful and the raindrops certainly add to the beauty. My heart goes out to those that suffered so much loss due to Ike.

Superb capture Maria, we have storms here in the UK but nothing like a hurricane, I feel for the people that have been caught up in Ike, and all the previous ones as well. I tend to have a moan about the English weather, especially where I live in the North West, but I am thankfull that we don't get it as bad as over in the states. Excellent clarity and detail, a superb image. Bravo!!!!!
