Description

Thought I'd avoid another reflection shot today as they seem to have subconsciously started to run certain parts of my photographic brain..! So here's a pic of a frog/toad (never any good with these things) which was hanging out on the patio at the villa we were staying in. After being called away from cooking to try and take a photo of it, the little chap didn't take too keenly to my onboard flash strobing to find focus in the dark, and duly hopped off each time I tried, ending up in this little niche under the nearby palm tree. The lighting was a spotlight from what I refer to as a 'lens torch' which a friend happened to have with him... I then lay flat on my belly, zoomed in on him and tried to keep as still as I could for the half second exposure or so the shot required. Postwork, b&w colour 'pop', selective sharpening, and I tried to bring out the 'eyes' of the tree a bit ;) Title is just a play on the food dish 'Toad in the Hole', which as I understand it is sausage encased in some kind of pastry casing with other stuff in it... =| Still without a fixed abode, but working heavily on it at the moment so do excuse any absence, I'll be trying to catch up in bits as I can.. thanks for all your kind comments and favourites on my last post, hope you like this one and have a great Sunday! Adam (details a little sharper fullsized I think)

He looks right at home in this little corner. Great capture after all this tracking! Really nice to have his environment in B&W and lots of interesting details.

I had to look it up, because "Toad in the Hole" is a different dish in England than it is in the US. Over here, it's an egg fried up in a slice of bread with a hole cut through the middle for the egg. You end up with a fried egg and toast, all at the same time.
