JeffG7BRJ had asked why this shot wasn't on RR.
I was out early taking pics of 'the start of a new building' when the sky turned orange and lasted only seconds.
I have been compiling a set of photos of an area of my hometown of Middleton, Manchester UK. where many changes are taking place.
We already have an OLD Public Swimming pool, a recreation centre for all types of Sport with a Gym etc. and we also have a Civic hall with a Theatre where local Drama and Dance groups perform. The Civic HallAlso used for presentation evenings etc.
All three buildings are to be demolished but are to be relocated to ONE brand new Arena. So I set out on a personal mission lol to document the rebuilding and also the demolition which will change the area for ever.
This particular shot was taken almost one year ago NOV.2007 It is not often you see such sunrises with so much colour here.
This shot (one of many of this sunrise) on THAT morning has inspired me to look for something different while documenting this regeneration of the town although I've never seen a sunrise like it since.
I have not altered the image in any way apart from resize !

FANTASTIC! You put me to shame regarding sunrises. I am often up at that time but would have to drive for a couple of miles to actually see it, as we are surrounded by trees. So glad you are documenting the changes, it is so important!

WOW!!!That is a very African sunset! I can't say I ever saw anything like that when I lived in Middleton Junction:-) I am looking forward to seeing the pics of Middleton. It must be so different since I last saw it in the 60s >sigh< missing home now!!!

These skies are nearly as scarce as Rocking Horse droppings around here Alan, I'm glad you decided to share this one. Spectacular capture, pity about the lamp, the building works looks more like a fence than what it actually is. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
