Fantastic sense of motion and fluidity, plus (and I hope this doesn't offend you as a Hitchcock fan) I think this is creepier than the actual movie. Something about how vague those shapes are while still remaining disturbingly suggestive, making me imagine things much worse than birds... it's almost primal. The middle one looks like something from that "Night on Bald Mountain" cartoon. Genius.
