Description

Another of my infrared pictures from this summer, this one had some heavy noise which when I processed it out caused some smudges in the grass, but otherwise it's acceptable. My D50 (I have two now) is still my best camera for IR work, I found the D700 will do IR but only by brute force, at ISO 4000 it will do acceptable images, but at the cost of very heavy noise. (In regular light the noise is barely noticeable---it's amazing!) I'm trying to work up the nerve to replace the IR cutoff filter in one of the D50's with a clear glass plate, which would let me do better IR but still use it for color photography with some white balance tweaking, but never enough time or money...........
