¡nadie me llama asÃ!
No me agradan.
ROBY.

Looks like a fun place! Nice shot. I never played with traditional "girl stuff" as a child...I rode bikes through the woods, played "war games" with my cousins and stuff like that. But we never stayed indoors, we were always outside.

This is a bigger form of some fiber board and lithographed sheet steel buildings I an my friends had. They were populated with polyvinyl plastic figures of men and animals. I remember a castle and walls, a dairy barn, a gas station, a fire station and a ranch house. I always had the cheap ones and my wealthier friends had upscale versions with more stuff that moved and figures that acted. Before that we had painted cast lead army figures from World War I. Disneyland's castle is similar as is Disney world with miniature golf lands a bit smaller and for teens or pre-teens.

You have captured a magical place! I used to have a little 'Weebles" house. I did play with it for hours. You cannot find toys like that anymore.

Inside of us always hides a child... and this comes out as the less you waiting for... and so you learn to smile and play along with a child with simple items and all day... is just a little imagination! :) Beautiful photo! :)

Beautiful place, a fairy land castle, yes I see your point, I played for hours with toy soldiers, Lincoln logs, in the sand box or yard, trying to get my oldest grandson who is five to do the same is almost impossible, the same for coloring or drawing, which I loved to do. He will only do a bit for a minute, then he is done. But, mention a video game and off he goes, though I must say he is quite good at them, he has beaten just about everyone here at most of the games, he has been playing since he was big enough to hold the controller. Excellent capture!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all have the child within us, dearest Roby. This is a beautiful shot. Stay forever young. Hugs. Your Diana. xx

I loved my doll and my toy farm. I had a metal barn that was open on one side (similar to doll houses) and I had farm animals and tractors and everything a farm would have. I played with it by the hour for years. Now sixty plus years later I still have one pig and one cow left from the original set. Thank you for reminding me of wonderful memories.

This is so true my friend add to it crime as well.We had an example when my two daughters were playing outside our flat two or 3 years ago that a child threw a avocado at my kids.I can honestly say that we cannot allow our kids to walk around on their own.It is not safe to do so.Lovely composition and capture my friend.

!!!! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- I used to spend most of my time out doors playing with friends in the woods and fields, I was lucky that I lived very close to the moorland. In fact if I climbed over the fence at the back of our house I was on the moors. I used to go fishing and hunting rabbits close by. Swimming(skinny dipping) in the local lodges and lakes, making bugggies/go-carts with pram wheels and wood, racing down hill. Helping out on the local farm 200 yards away(now demolished). Very little time was spent indoors, even when it rained. Like you say Roby, much has changed in the last fifty years. Excellent capture and a good questioning narrative. Bravo my friend Bravo!!!!!

For me as a child it was pedal cars, sandboxes, swings, and coloring books, We played outside games like "Mother May I?" and "Red Light-Green Light," "Simon Says" or "Statues" (one that doctors caution parents about now because they fear children will break all their bones in a fall when spun off...), I roller skated, played card games like Go Fish and Old Maid, and made money with a homemade lemonaide stand that cost my folks $10 to buy the supplies for (and I might have made $2 selling it for 10 cents a glass). Around the age of 8, my girlfriends in the neighborhood and I set up our own neighborhood library for all the kids by asking for donated children's books from every house up and down the street. We had homemade library cards and check-outs and check-ins daily (Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy books were on the top of the check-out list). We also started an Everyone Book. One kid would start writing a story and do one chapter with illustrations. Later another kid would stop by and add their 2nd chapter to the story, and on it went until the book was filled with everyone's thoughts and pictures and it had a good ending. When it was finished, my dad punched holes in it, bound it with yarn and it was added to the other books in the library. And another Everyone Book was started...
