Description

Get out the old rake, hose, leaf blower and/or vacuum sweeper. Jacaranda trees are beautiful when they are in full bloom, but watch out below when they begin to shed and drop their petals. Captured 5/16/08, very early in the morning, about 1.8 miles/2.9 kilometers from my humble haunt. Thankx a zillion for stopping by, and have a fundamentally fecund Friday.

Call me quirky.... but I love the purple carpet of the fallen flowers and have considered getting one of these trees just for that :) Where I live the wind would do the work part for me and just blow them away... LOL

I've never seen a jacaranda tree! The purple carpet is so beautiful. I particularly like the first shot, where you can see more of them in bloom over the housetop. Gorgeous!

I seem to remember these from my youth...and as far as raking, well, that's why they invented the leaf blower, so you can share the wealth with your neighbors!>:O Great captures here!

How beautiful a carpet this makes on the lawn! You must show the trees next spring, I would love to see the tree in bloom as this species is new to me. Nice collage, Harry!

another one of your wonderful triptychs, making the familiar look new and exotic...full view your shots are a treat...the violet hue makes this seem from another planet, very fine captures; and the threesome lets us get a feel of them from different angles. I love the reddish curb with these flowers (bottom shot). You're nearing 1000 pictures! That's an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations in advance!
