Description

During our Thailand travel we saw many statues of Buddha, in various poses. These attitudes have each a specific meaning. The Wat Pho temple contains a lying Buddha, which is completely gold plated. It has a length of ca. 148ft (45m) and its height is 49ft (15m), which is a giant size in the very small Wat Pho temple. The lying pose is that which precedes the nirvana, a step in which somebody becomes free of the reincarnations’ cycle. To photograph the entire Buddha statue in a single shot is very difficult because of the very narrow size of the temple and of the low available light. Please note how the smile is beautiful and the hair delicate. I dedicate this picture to Caude19. Click on the image to enjoy its details. Comments welcome.
