Description

Hello All!!! Wasn't sure what to put up from my recent trip to Nappanee, IN so putting up a collection of pocket cam snaps that I played with working into a collage today ( forgive the quality- it was alot better but had to save it to a jpeg to get it below the 512 KB ) . SO just a few shots just to share the experiance & little window into life on an Amish Farm where time seems frozen in the past ( 1800's America ) . Normally Amish people do not let you take their pic but I got lucky here this guy didn't mind. What a peaceful life he must have. Can you imagine living with no electricity TV, car or computer? try it for a week!!! We had a power outage and the girls went nuts with no lights tv or computer for an evening ..something to think about could you give that all up?.. I could I think - never know until you try ( but oh i would miss renderosity and my digital camera alot!! ) ... I have always had a pull toward/ and real love for this simplistic country life . sometimes wish I lived or knew their simple lifestyle that seems so Godly and wholesome. This day I visited an old farm it started to rain pretty hard - it really *poured on me !(* see pic with horse and buggy -omg I was completely drenched there no umbrella or coat and a bit worried about my camera lol). Thanks for all your time and comments ~! Love to all!!! ((( BIG HUGS ))) ~ Kimmers ! ♥ :O)

What a beautiful collage - you've really shown us a slice of the Amish life. Sometimes when life gets so complicated this seems like a peaceful place to be. Don't know how long I'd make it without my puter, though.:o)CC

Back to a simpler time, just goes to show you what it's like for those who choose. We are so spoiled by all the technology that makes our life so much easier. It would really be a test to live like this. I lived in my present house which started out as a 20x20 box. No electric, no running water, no stove, no fridge, no phone, no toilet...for 4 yrs. But rent free. I did not find it a real problem after I adjusted to it. Public swimming pools provided showers and toilets, I ate out most of the time. I chose my situation, always keeping my goal in sight. I'm proud to say I live in a 3 br,2 1/2 bath house today. In so many ways I miss those days when life was simpler. Love the collage, must have been very time consuming, what a story it tells! Aloha~

Years and years ago, when I was first married, I lived in the wilds with no running water, electricity or any of the things it powers. I had a woodburning stove and had to heat water for baths and doing dishes. As soon as spring arrived and I thawed out (LOL) I started looking for something with a few more comforts to move into. I can't say I didn't find that time adventurous but I was much younger and more flexible back then. I certainly would try it now. I love these shots and I'm surprised you were able to get so many without their protest. Excellent collage.

oh, kimarie—this is a whole photo-book! There are great shots in here! I mean that—you have several wonderful photos here, it's like a multi-media show more than a collage...where do I begin? Your top-left corner, the blues in front & back, god would I like to see that wall size. The next shot over, the pier—another of your sheen & reflection shots (lovely). The bottled items, top far-right: bathed in reds & earth tones, and looking edible on the spot. The barn, bottom-center: a wonderful long landscape. And that's just some...Kimarie: This is a cornucopia. Did the people you saw see this? Would they look? I'm ready to go there right now. Your eye is shimmering and you capture worlds in a small space; and, packed together like this, it's kind of a like a travel-montage for the soul. A beautiful collection. 500 stars!
