Even though she was growing hungrier by the moment, she remained where she was because this was the spot where her contact would locate her. Sleep was difficult because she was so hungry. By mid-morning the next day, Chi decided to go look for something to eat--even if it were garbage--and likely it would be. She had waited four days. She doubted anybody was coming. Slipping off the crate that she had been sitting upon, Chi walked over to the nearest stairway, rounded its corner, and began climbing up the steps. Just above Chi, an alien biped with a mass of springy hair on its head was rapidly descending the stairs. Its never even glanced her way, but just before it passed her, it spoke in her own language. "Follow me, but stay about twenty steps behind me." Surprised, she turned to stare at him. It had spoken with a quiet, firm authority. Chi started counting his steps. At fifteen, she started after him and tried to maintain the same distance. "Well," Chi muttered, "It seems my contact has finally gotten here." At least, she hoped that was who it was. She picked up her pace as the Earther was beginning to put a little more distance between them. __________________________________________________ CREDITS: Vue Pro Studio 6; Poser 6.
