I was taking a look this morning at the orchids that are currently blooming in my living-room and thought it would be a good idea to post one of them!...
I have also decided to abandon the idea of asking my photos to be rated, since two members rated my last Bryce image very low while praising the beauty of it. Since I can't bring myself to see the evil and jealous part of some members, I thought it was wise not to allow this kind of retaliation to happen again. The heart of an orchid matters more to me than that of a zealous competitor, sorry, artist!...

Tout d'abord, je tiens à te dire que j'apprécie beaucoup ta photo : la profondeur de champ est superbe et apporte un côté "aérien" et suréaliste à ton coeur d'orchidée. Ensuite, je suis entièrement d'accord avec ce que tu penses du système de notation sur Renderosity. Je vois que tu as pris les mêmes mesures que moi... Q'importe d'être classé au best-rating ! Ce qui est important c'est de mettre en valeur son art et ce que l'on aime. J'aime aussi faire plaisir à une poignée d'amis que j'ai rencontrés ici sur Rendo : c'est pour eux que j'expose. The detail in this macro of your orchid is incredible Jean-Luc. I can't get over the depth of the yellow here as it is wonderful. As for the ratings I agree with you totally as do many. Your last work in Bryce was a stunner as is all of your work in Bryce so I simply think it was jealousy.

Hi Jean-Luc your work is always a joy to view as I look forward to it too this one no exception love the colors I do sometimes with the bad ratings it could be a mistake cause I get carried away sometimes and click the wrong one and sometimes I catch it and other times it is missed but pleaese remember always a 5 with me sweet sunshine to you warm hug, Linda

Beautiful photo capture, Jean-Luc. I, too, agree with you regarding the ratings. That's why I stopped having images rated a long time ago. Plus, the ratings system around here is idiotic anyhow. Entered a site-wide contest a while back and one of the entrants went and searched out the render I submitted (one that still was rated) and gave a great comment and trashed it with the rating. And up until that person's comment, it retained a 5. But, I'm known to respond likewise on theirs. Then they get the message, really quickly.

Such a beautifully colored Orchid! thank you for this beauty! I have on occaision had to delete a comment and rewrite because I inadvertantly hit the wrong number, often a 4 when I meant a 5. I hope that I caught all the mistakes. I too disabled the rating a long time ago, much preferring to hear peoples thoughts then caring about their ratings.
